Bio| Tanaka was a very fortunate lad from the moment he was born. He was the son of Shinobu Misao, the first concubine of Shinreigaku Jinsoku, the leader of the Shinreigaku Clan whose wife was struck barren after a virulent disease destroyed her uterus. This left Tanaka the crown prince, per se, of the Shinreigaku clan, expected to inherit the title of Clan Leader from his father in the distant future. To this end, he began his training very young, taught by his father in the basics of both sword arts and hand arts no sooner than he was talking. A few months after turning seven, he was taken from his familial home and thrown into the harsh and unforgiving Shinreigaku Kenjutsu Academy, where he spent three years doing little other than sleeping, eating, and breathing the Way of the Sword, and often engaged in practice battles against other students at that academy.

Returned to his familial home at the age of 10, he was given only a brief respite before being thrown back into the crucible of training. In addition to advancing his knowledge of Kenjutsu, he began learning the Way of the Ninja from his father, and was instructed in some of the clan's more basic Jutsus in the process. This gave him an edge in the Academy, where he showed great promise at an early stage. Though he was by no means at the top of his class, his instructors appraised his preformance as consistently above average - enough to please his over-strict father, but not enough to satisfy his over-high standards. Regardless, he graduated from the academy right on schedule, becoming a full Genin at the typical age of 14. The young Shinobi now awaits only his team assignment before officially joining the ranks of Iwagakure Ninjas.

Specialized Gear| Wakizashi. Although only a child, Takana is still a member of a swordsman clan, and has been granted a single short sword for his personal use until he learns to craft his own weapons.

Jutsus| It is impractical to list each and every Jutsu that a Shinobi knows. Though he only knows a short number of them of a Genin, it is almost certain that he will learn many, many more, as Shinobi have tended to do, sometimes learning numbers of jutsus in excess of a thousand. Therefore, I'll refrain from creating a comprehensive list in favor of simply naming the Jutsu series he knows.

Chigatana - The Shinreigaku Clan's secret Jutsus. He knows all of the series' D-Rank techniques.
Simple Jutsus - Including Henge, Kawarimi, and Bunshin, these are the sorts of Jutsus that any Genin should be expected to know.
